Neo News: Week in Review – April 12 – April 18

Neo Global Development released its monthly report for March 2021, which noted the reveal of the Neo N3 brand, the launch of the new Neo website, and the release of the N3 RC1 TestNet. The report also outlined core protocol updates in N3 and various contributions from Neo’s global developer community.

Flamingo Finance’s FIP #3 passed with significant majority support. The FIP includes a new cGAS/nNEO trading pair, adjusts the weekly FLM distribution, and establishes capital for a third-party team to assume responsibility for Neo’s DeFi platform. The vote concluded at block 7,213,549, which was produced on Friday, April 16, 2021.

Neo co-founder, Da Hongfei, published an article on CoinTelegraph discussing why future governance processes should rooted in a philosophy of multi-party inclusion and the balance between decentralization and centralization. Da wrapped these concepts together, among others, into what he calls “elastic manageability.” These principles are found in N3’s governance process, accounting for business and enterprise needs, technical requirements for node operators, and local regulations – all factors that may affect voter choice. Through his elastic manageability philosophy, Da believes that incorporating the interests of all “opens up the path for sustainable and responsible growth both in the on- and off-chain world.”

Developer Groups

Neo SPCC released two new articles in a series to get users familiar with NeoFS and its features. The first article focused on N3 oracles and how NeoFS objects may be accessed by smart contracts. The second article outlined how to use HTTP to access stored data on NeoFS via the browser, as well as how to deploy a NeoFS HTTP Protocol Gateway.

COZ resolved product outages with the desktop and mobile Neon Wallet, Neoscan, and Neon.js. The outage did not affect any token balances.

Ecosystem

April 12, the Switcheo community proposed a TIP to build a connector that integrates Hummingbot with Switcheo Tradehub. Hummingbot is an open-source trading bot that allows its users to automate cryptocurrency trades. The vote passed with near-unanimous support from SWTH token holders.

April 12, Poly Network announced the protocol had surpassed 70,000 cross-chain transactions, and a total trading volume of US $3.7 billion.

April 12, QLC Chain announced the development of a proof of concept that leverages the Metro Ethernet Forum’s lifecycle service orchestration APIs with blockchain to create ‘smart bilaterals’ for end-to-end ordering, billing, and settlement of data services. Looking forward, the POC will be available for QLC Chain’s partners to test as an open platform.

April 12, NOWPayments announced it integrated support for NEO and GAS into its payment gateway, which can connect to Shopify, WooCommerce, and other e-commerce websites.

April 12, O3 Labs announced it integrated support for the 1inch non-custodial exchange aggregator, and Solana blockchain.

April 13, Poly Network established a partnership with Revomon, a virtual reality-based NFT collectible monster game.

April 14, Poly Network established a partnership with BlindBoxes to share game-based NFTs across multiple blockchains.

April 14, Nash announced Nash app support for Wallet Connect on both iOS and Android.

April 14, Switcheo released its monthly report for March 2021, which noted $3 million in daily trading volume on Demex, Demex reaching $25 million in a total value locked, more than one billion SWTH staked, and more.

April 14, Poly Network announced a strategic cooperation with Cyber Vein for cross-chain asset transfers and interoperability.

April 15, O3 Labs joined an AMA hosted by Crypto Royals to discuss the O3 Swap cross-chain aggregation protocol.

April 17, DeepBrain Chain reported nearly 200 million DBC were pledged to phase two of the DBC TestNet. The second phase of the TestNet will last for one month with 21 nodes.

April 17, QLC Chain announced plans to launch a NEP-5 to BEP-20 QLC token swap on the QLC Explorer in the following week.

April 17, DeepBrain Chain released its fortnightly report, which noted updating the website to support the DBC MainNet wallet and various functions for DBC MainNet. It also provided an overview of network users and GPU providers.

April 18, O3 Labs integrated support for Wootrade, a trading platform with zero trading fees, deep liquidity pools, and a customizable GUI.
